First round of Districts. Shelby started playing a great passing game from the very first minute. We reflected our good playing on the score with Ryan Jenkins finishing a ball that was sent through the center by our center midfielder. They then scored when we couldn’t get to a long ball they sent to their forward. Second half was more intense, but we kept playing our passing game creating opportunities to score; Miguel Guerra was able to capitalize a chance he had on his side by taking a beautiful shot from outside the box putting in the right low corner. Shelby kept dominating the rest of the second and Joseph Hayes was able to score with less than one minute left of the game. Shelby’s defenders Brian Garcia, Logan Claeys, Henry Kidder, Mauricio Castillo, and Carson Claeys played a great game defensively limiting the shots on goal and stopping many dangerous offensive plays by Manistee.Joseph Hayes, Riley Garcia, Ryan Jenkins, Ricardo Bahena, and Harry Jenkins had a great day on offense; they controlled the middle well and distributed the ball in a great manner to make dangerous plays for the Tiger’s offensive. They had many shots on goal, and were able to finish 3. Bishop Lee also had a great day having 4 phenomenal saves and he was always there when the Tigers needed him. In short, the Tigers had great chemistry as a team and played their passing game, allowing them to maintain possession of the ball for most of the game.
